Luxury cruise line · 11 ships · sailing 9 regions — Italian-styled, all-inclusive ultra-luxury across ocean and expedition.
Silversea is an ultra-luxury, Italian-heritage line built around intimate, all-suite ships and a genuinely all-inclusive model that can extend door-to-door with included airfare, transfers and hotel nights. It is distinctive for running both classic ocean ships and a dedicated luxury-expedition fleet, with among the highest space- and crew-to-guest ratios at sea and butler service in every suite.
Affluent, well-travelled couples and solo travellers who want refined, understated luxury, destination immersion and attentive personal service rather than big-ship activity or nightlife. The mix of ocean and expedition sailings also suits luxury travellers chasing polar and remote adventures without giving up comfort. Not aimed at families with young children.
A comparatively small fleet of roughly a dozen ships spanning ocean and expedition, with the ocean fleet expanding toward eight vessels led by the new Nova (Evolution) class. Ships are small by industry standards, carrying about 200 guests on expedition vessels up to 728 on the Nova class. The newest ships are Silver Ray (2024) and Silver Nova (2023); the expedition fleet is headed by the flagship Silver Endeavour.
The standout vessels in the fleet — and the amenities that set them apart.
First of the Nova / Evolution class
Second Nova-class 'ship of light', sister to Silver Nova
First of the Muse class, which pioneered the line's multi-restaurant dining
Luxury-expedition flagship; the former Crystal Endeavor (built 2021), which joined Silversea in 2022
Multi-restaurant dining with open, unassigned seating and no single main dining room; venues include La Dame (French, in the Relais & Chateaux tradition), Kaiseki (Japanese), La Terrazza (Italian) and Atlantide. The signature S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) program links an onboard S.A.L.T. Kitchen restaurant, bar and lab, plus destination-focused shore experiences, to the regions each ship visits.
Low-key and enrichment-led: cabaret and live music in the Venetian Lounge, jazz and soul at Silver Note, destination lectures and expert guest speakers, plus the Connoisseur's Corner for cognac and premium cigars. There are no large-scale production spectacles.
Adults-oriented with no dedicated children's clubs or youth programming; the atmosphere, entertainment and enrichment are aimed at mature luxury travellers rather than families.
Genuinely all-inclusive: butler-serviced suites, unlimited wines, premium spirits and an in-suite bar, gratuities, Wi-Fi and one or more shore excursions on many voyages. Higher door-to-door / all-inclusive-plus fares can add roundtrip economy or reduced business-class air, private home-to-ship transfers and pre-cruise hotel nights.
