Luxury Classic ultra-luxury, reborn with more space per guest

Crystal is a classic ultra-luxury line relaunched in 2023 under new owner A&K Travel Group. Its two ships were rebuilt with far fewer guests and larger suites, giving Crystal one of the highest space-per-guest ratios at sea, and it now sails on an all-inclusive basis with butler service in every suite. It is known for polished, traditional luxury and long grand and world voyages.

Who Crystal Cruises is for

Discerning, well-traveled luxury guests who prize spacious suites, refined service, fine dining and enrichment over big-ship activity. It suits couples and solo travelers drawn to longer itineraries, grand voyages and world cruises; it is not a family or casual-cruising product.

The fleet

Two mid-size ultra-luxury ships relaunched in 2023 after multi-million-dollar refits: Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. Both had their stateroom counts cut sharply to enlarge suites and reduce capacity, so Serenity now carries about 740 guests and Symphony about 606, with every accommodation redesigned and given butler service.

The onboard experience

Dining

A hallmark of the line: roughly eight to ten venues per ship, most included, headlined by Umi Uma by Nobu (the only Nobu restaurant at sea, serving Japanese-Peruvian cuisine) and Osteria d'Ovidio, an Italian venue named for owner Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio with a menu from the three-Michelin-star Alajmo brothers. The Waterside main dining room, a marketplace and casual poolside options round it out.

Entertainment & activities

Refined and traditional: enrichment lectures and programs, live music and shows, a casino and elegant lounges, in keeping with a classic ultra-luxury tone rather than big-ship spectacle.

Families & kids

Adult-oriented ultra-luxury; children are accommodated on some sailings but Crystal is not a family-focused line and has limited dedicated youth facilities.

What's included

All-inclusive: fares cover fine dining across venues (including specialty spots such as Umi Uma by Nobu), premium wines and spirits, gratuities, butler service, Wi-Fi, entertainment and enrichment; the model is especially valuable on Crystal's long world and grand voyages.
